The South Bend Gun Safety Resolution

Action Tool Kit

The most powerful thing you can do is to show your support, in person or by sending an email or calling each member of the South Bend Common Council. (see contact info on pg.2)

In Person

Come to the vote on Monday, March 27th, 7:00 PM. (GET THERE BY 6:00 PM TO GET A SEAT) at the County City Building 227 W Jefferson Blvd, South Bend.

Make sure you read the resolution. It’s about common sense measures 90% of Americans agree with – keeping guns out of the hands of those who have no business having them while protecting 2nd Amendment rights. It’s NOT about banning guns. To view the resolution and get more info go to:

Send each councilperson an e-mail asking them to support the Gun Safety Resolution on March 27th. In your own words cover the following points:

·      As a citizen of South Bend I am tired of the ongoing gun violence in our community.

·      I believe more can be done to keep guns out of the hands of criminals and abusers.

·      I support the call for universal background checks on all gun sales and the Gun Safety Resolution.

·      I strongly urge you to vote for the Gun Safety Resolution on March 27th.

Any personal stories you know about gun violence are very powerful even if it’s just from a local news article or an online post.
